Kansas basketball coach Bill Self was unhappy about the way his team’s 77-59 victory against Kansas State ended on Wednesday at Allen Fieldhouse.
The game appeared as though it would end 75-59. The Jayhawks possessed the ball, the shot clock was off and they had no reason to attempt a shot. But Brannen Greene drove to the basket and dunked with one second remaining.
“That was probably the biggest (expletive) move I’ve ever had a player do during a game,” Self said during his postgame radio interview. “To dunk the ball like that when the other team — even their players are going, ‘How disrespectful to the game.’ It certainly showed unbelievable poor sportsmanship.”
