Under a policy NFL commissioner Roger Goodell brought up this past week, Denver cornerback Aqib Talib would have been ejected before halftime. Carolina safety Tre Boston also would have been ejected for two personal fouls.
At his annual Super Bowl press conference, Goodell said that if a player gets two personal fouls in a game, that player should be ejected.
Talib, known for being an aggressive player, was flagged for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the first quarter when he got in Philly Brown’s face. He got his second in the second quarter when he took Brown down by the facemask near the goal line.
In the third quarter, Boston was flagged for an illegal blindside block on a punt return and later for unsportsmanlike conduct.
