#12: New CentrePointe developers say they are out of project | Lexington Herald-Leader

Developers of the long-delayed CentrePointe project told the city Wednesday they are pulling out of the downtown development.

Jonathan Miller, a lawyer who represents Matt Collins of Lexington and Bridgeton Holdings of New York, notified members of the Urban County Council by letter. It said that because the city did not want to lease a new government center as part of the project, the group could not develop the CentrePointe block. They wanted to build a mixed-use development that also would include a hotel, apartments, restaurants and retail shops, and felt that without a government building, the project would not work.
